Ingredients

  • 2/3 cup dry rice
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 cup finely chopped celery
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1/2 cup diced bell pepper
  • 1 quart chopped canned tomatoes
  • 2 cups water
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 teaspoon granulated beef bouillon
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

Instructions

  1. In a large electric skillet or frying pan with a tight-fitting lid, fry the ground beef and chopped onion until brown and the onion is tender.
  2. Drain the grease from the beef mixture.
  3. Add the chopped celery, diced bell pepper, chopped canned tomatoes, water, salt, pepper, beef bouillon, and Worcestershire sauce to the skillet.
  4. Cover tightly and simmer for 30 minutes until the rice is tender and all liquid is absorbed.
