Ingredients

  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 Tbsp garlic salt
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp celery salt
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 cup bread crumbs
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 eggs
  • 3 Tbsp milk
  • 1 clove garlic, crushed
  • 6 to 8 whole chicken legs

Instructions

  1. In a large plastic bag, mix all dry ingredients: baking powder, baking soda, garlic salt, paprika, celery salt, flour, bread crumbs, salt, and pepper.
  2. In a shallow dish, beat eggs, milk, and crushed garlic until well combined.
  3. Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan with a cover until hot, about 325°F or medium-low heat.
  4. Dredge the chicken legs in the dry mixture, then dip into the egg mixture, and repeat if desired for extra coating.
  5. Carefully place the coated chicken legs into the hot oil.
  6. Fry the chicken, turning occasionally, until golden brown and cooked through, about 20 minutes.
  7. Drain on paper towels before serving.
