Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lb. lean hamburger
  • 1 medium onion
  • 1/2 green pepper
  • 1 (14 oz.) can whole tomatoes
  • 1/2 can tomato paste
  • 1/4 tsp. lemon pepper
  • 1/8 tsp. oregano
  • 1/8 tsp. ground coriander seed
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 can mushrooms
  • 1 garlic clove
  • 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
  • 1 Tbsp. tomato ketchup
  • 1 small can tomato juice
  • 1/4 tsp. Italian spices
  • 1/8 tsp. ground red pepper
  • 1/8 tsp. garlic salt
  • 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce

Instructions

  1. Saute the minced onion, green pepper, mushrooms, and minced tomatoes in a skillet for 30 minutes.
  2. Add all remaining ingredients, including the cooked and browned hamburger patties, to the skillet.
  3. Cook on very low heat for 1 hour, allowing flavors to meld.
