Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups flour
  • 2 cups brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup margarine
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 cups quick cooking oats
  • 6 ounces chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup nuts

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine 1 1/4 cups flour, brown sugar, soda, salt, margarine, vanilla, and eggs. Beat at medium speed until blended.
  2. By hand, stir in 1 cup flour, oats, nuts, and chocolate chips.
  3. Drop by teaspoonfuls, 2 inches apart, onto ungreased cookie sheets.
  4. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 10 to 15 minutes, or until golden brown.
  5. Cool on baking sheets for a few minutes, then remove and cool completely on wire racks.
