- In a large bowl, combine 1 1/4 cups flour, brown sugar, soda, salt, margarine, vanilla, and eggs. Beat at medium speed until blended.
- By hand, stir in 1 cup flour, oats, nuts, and chocolate chips.
- Drop by teaspoonfuls, 2 inches apart, onto ungreased cookie sheets.
- Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 10 to 15 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Cool on baking sheets for a few minutes, then remove and cool completely on wire racks.
