Ingredients

  • 14 oz. can tomatoes
  • 10 oz. can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/4 cup dry white wine
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 1/2 lb. stew beef
  • 4 ribs celery
  • 6 carrots
  • 1 large potato
  • 1 large onion

Instructions

  1. In a large casserole, combine the tomatoes, cream of mushroom soup, water, white wine, salt, garlic salt, black pepper, and bay leaf.
  2. Blend the mixture well to combine all ingredients.
  3. Add the stew beef, celery, carrots, potato, and onion to the casserole and stir to coat everything evenly.
  4. Cover and bake at 350°F for 2 1/2 to 3 hours, until the beef is tender.
  5. Remove the bay leaf before serving.
