Ingredients

  • 3 to 3 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 package yeast
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 10 tablespoons butter
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts

Instructions

  1. Combine 1 1/2 cups flour, yeast, 1/4 cup sugar, salt, 2 tablespoons butter, egg, and 1 cup hot water in a mixer bowl.
  2. Beat at medium speed for 3 minutes.
  3. Stir in remaining 2 cups flour.
  4. Knead on a floured surface for 1 minute.
  5. Roll the dough into a 7 x 15-inch rectangle.
  6. Mix 1/2 cup sugar, cinnamon, and 1/2 cup butter and spread over the dough.
  7. Roll up the dough as for a jelly roll.
  8. Slice the rolled dough into individual rolls.
  9. Combine 1 cup heavy cream, 1/2 cup packed brown sugar, and 1/2 cup chopped walnuts in a 9 x 13-inch baking dish.
  10. Place the sliced rolls in the prepared baking dish.
  11. Let the rolls rise for 35 to 45 minutes until doubled in size.
  12. Bake at 400°F for 25 to 35 minutes until golden brown.
  13. Allow to cool for 15 minutes before inverting onto a serving tray.
