Ingredients

  • 1 cup rice
  • 1 envelope onion soup mix
  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • salt
  • pepper
  • garlic salt
  • parsley
  • Parmesan cheese
  • 2 eggs
  • 3 pounds cabbage
  • 1 can tomatoes
  • 1 can tomato soup

Instructions

  1. Cook rice with onion soup mix until done. Cool and set aside.
  2. Mix ground beef with salt, pepper, garlic salt, parsley, Parmesan cheese, and eggs.
  3. Add cooled rice mixture to the meat mixture and combine well.
  4. Chop or shred the cabbage and layer it in the bottom of a baking dish.
  5. Spread the meat and rice mixture over the cabbage layer.
  6. Pour some tomato soup over the meat mixture and layer additional cabbage on top.
  7. Add canned tomatoes and remaining tomato soup on top of the layered cabbage.
  8. Optional: Use sauerkraut instead of cabbage if desired.
  9. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 1 hour until cooked through and bubbly.
