Ingredients

  • 2/3 cup peanut butter
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 3 tablespoons shortening
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon soda
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts

Instructions

  1. Mix peanut butter, sugar, honey, shortening, butter, and egg until well combined.
  2. Stir in the flour, baking powder, salt, soda, and chopped nuts until fully incorporated.
  3. Shape the mixture into a strip approximately 10 x 2.5 x 1.5 inches in size.
  4. Wrap the shaped strip and refrigerate for at least 8 hours.
  5. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  6. Cut the chilled strip into 1/8-inch slices.
  7. Bake the slices on an ungreased cookie sheet for 7 to 8 minutes until lightly golden.
