Ingredients

  • 2 Bartlett pears, peeled
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 1/4 cup raisins
  • 2 tablespoons chopped nuts
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • Rind of 1 lemon
  • 4 sheets fillo dough
  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine, melted

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F.
  2. Cut the peeled pears into bite-sized pieces.
  3. Mix the pears with sugar, raisins, chopped nuts, cinnamon, and lemon rind.
  4. Take one fillo sheet and spread it out on a floured surface.
  5. Brush the fillo sheet with melted butter and sprinkle with bread crumbs.
  6. Place half of the pear mixture on one end of the sheet, leaving a 1-inch border.
  7. Start rolling from the filled end toward the other, ending with the seam down.
  8. Repeat with the remaining fillo sheet and the remaining pear mixture.
  9. Bake for 35 minutes or until golden brown.
  10. Before serving, sprinkle with confectioners sugar.
