Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup Karo syrup
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 4 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 4 tablespoons sherry
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 2 tablespoons corn oil
  • 1 pound shrimp, cleaned and boiled
  • 1 small tomato, cut in wedges
  • 1/2 cup green pepper

Instructions

  1. Combine Karo syrup, water, soy sauce, sherry, cornstarch, garlic, and ground ginger in a bowl.
  2. Heat corn oil in a skillet; add shrimp and cook for about 3 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  3. Add the prepared sauce along with tomato wedges and green pepper to the skillet.
  4. Boil gently for 1 minute, stirring to coat everything evenly.
  5. Serve over rice.
