Ingredients

  • 5 cups shredded cabbage
  • 4 slices bacon, diced
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/3 cup cider vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • pepper
  • 1 onion, sliced

Instructions

  1. Cook cabbage in salted boiling water for 7 minutes.
  2. Fry bacon until crispy and remove from pan.
  3. Add brown sugar and flour to bacon fat; blend well.
  4. Add water, cider vinegar, salt, and pepper; cook until thickened.
  5. Add sliced onion, cooked bacon, and drained cabbage to the sauce.
  6. Heat through and serve.
