Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 cups sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup raisins
  • 1 cup margarine
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup nuts
  • pinch of salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 cups old fashioned rolled oats
  • 1 teaspoon soda

Instructions

  1. Boil sugar, water, raisins, margarine, cinnamon, nutmeg, nuts, and salt for 10 minutes.
  2. Set the mixture aside to cool.
  3. Add eggs, vanilla, flour, oats, and baking soda to the cooled mixture.
  4. Drop spoonfuls of the batter onto a slightly greased cookie sheet.
  5. Bake for 10 minutes at 350°F or until cookies are a nice shade of brown.
