Ingredients

  • 1 lb. lean ground beef
  • 1/2 c. olive oil
  • 2 chopped onions
  • 3 chopped garlic cloves
  • 1 chopped sweet pepper
  • 1/2 can chopped tomatoes
  • 1/2 c. raisins
  • 1/4 c. green olives
  • cooked rice

Instructions

  1. Brown the ground beef in olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add chopped onions, garlic, and sweet pepper; cook until vegetables are softened.
  3. Stir in chopped tomatoes and simmer the mixture for about 30 minutes.
  4. Half an hour before serving, add raisins and green olives to the skillet.
  5. Serve the picadillo over cooked rice.
