Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lb. ground beef
  • 1/2 chopped onion
  • 1 can tomatoes
  • 1 can tomato soup
  • 2 c. chopped celery
  • 1 green pepper, chopped (optional)
  • 1 can chow mein noodles
  • season to taste

Instructions

  1. Fry ground beef loosely in butter with chopped onion until browned.
  2. Add canned tomatoes, tomato soup, chopped celery, and chopped green pepper (if using). Season to taste.
  3. Put the mixture into a greased casserole dish.
  4. Top with chow mein noodles.
  5. Bake slowly at 325°F for 1 1/2 hours.
  6. Uncovered, the casserole will form a tasty crust.
