Pineapple Sage Stuffing

Ingredients
- 1/2 cup finely chopped celery ⓘ
- 2 tablespoons minced onion
- 1/2 cup margarine ⓘ
- 1 package (8 oz.) seasoned stuffing mix ⓘ
- 1 cup coarsely chopped cranberries ⓘ
- 2 (8 oz.) cans crushed pineapple in heavy syrup, undrained
- 1 (8 1/4 oz.) can water chestnuts, drained and chopped ⓘ
- 2 teaspoons ground sage ⓘ
- 1/2 to 1 teaspoon salt ⓘ
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper ⓘ
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F and lightly grease a 2-quart casserole dish.
- In a small skillet, cook and stir the celery and onion in margarine for 4 to 5 minutes until tender.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked celery and onion, seasoned stuffing mix, cranberries, crushed pineapple with syrup, chopped water chestnuts, ground sage, salt, and pepper.
- Transfer the mixture to the prepared casserole dish.
- Bake uncovered for approximately 15 minutes until heated through and slightly browned on top.
