Ingredients

  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup butter or margarine
  • 1 cup Wesson oil
  • 1 egg
  • pinch of salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon soda, mixed in 1 tablespoon sour milk
  • 1 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 3 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 cup oatmeal
  • 1 cup corn flakes
  • 1 cup coconut
  • 1/2 cup nuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Mix all ingredients in the order given.
  2. Roll the mixture into balls.
  3. Flatten the balls with a small glass dipped in sugar.
  4. Bake in a 350°F oven for 12 to 15 minutes.
