Ingredients

  • 7 oz. macaroni
  • 1 lb. lean ground beef
  • 3/4 c. chopped onion
  • 15 oz. can tomato sauce
  • 1/2 tsp. Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp. oregano
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 1 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 c. milk
  • 2 c. shredded Mozzarella cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Brown the ground beef in a skillet; pour off excess fat.
  3. Add chopped onion to the meat and cook until tender.
  4. Stir in the tomato sauce, Italian seasoning, oregano, pepper, and garlic powder. Simmer uncovered for 10 minutes.
  5. In a bowl, beat the egg and milk together.
  6. Mix the cooked macaroni with the egg and milk mixture until well coated.
  7. Pour the macaroni mixture into a 13 x 9-inch baking pan.
  8. Spread the meat sauce over the macaroni.
  9. Top with shredded Mozzarella cheese.
  10. Bake for 30 minutes, then let stand for 10 minutes before cutting and serving.
