Ingredients

  • 2 lb. lean ground beef
  • 6 medium potatoes
  • 2 cans green beans
  • 1 medium onion
  • 1 bag shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 4 Tbsp. margarine
  • 1/2 cup milk

Instructions

  1. Peel potatoes and cut into cubes.
  2. Boil potatoes in 2 quarts of water until tender.
  3. Drain potatoes.
  4. Add milk and margarine to potatoes and mash until smooth.
  5. Set mashed potatoes aside.
  6. In a large skillet, brown ground beef and chopped onion.
  7. Drain excess fat from the beef mixture.
  8. Spread the cooked ground beef evenly in a 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking dish.
  9. Distribute green beans evenly over the ground beef.
  10. Spread mashed potatoes over the green beans.
  11. Sprinkle shredded Cheddar cheese over the mashed potatoes.
  12. Cover the dish with foil.
  13. Bake in a 350°F (175°C) oven for 20 to 25 minutes until heated through and cheese is melted.
