Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/4 cup vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground mustard
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 slice lemon
  • 1 medium onion
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 to 2 teaspoons liquid smoke (optional)
  • 6 pork chops (1/2-inch thick)

Instructions

  1. Mix water, vinegar, sugar, ground mustard, salt, and pepper in a saucepan.
  2. Add lemon slice and sliced onion to the mixture.
  3. Simmer the mixture for 20 minutes.
  4. Stir in ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, and liquid smoke (if using).
  5. Bring the sauce to a boil.
  6. Place pork chops in a dish and pour the sauce over them.
  7. Bake uncovered in a 350°F oven for 1 hour and 25 minutes, turning the chops once, until done.
