Ingredients

  • 8 slices bread, crusts removed and cubed
  • 1 lb. pork sausage, cooked, cut and drained
  • 1 lb. Cheddar cheese, cubed
  • 4 beaten eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 small can mushrooms, drained
  • 1/4 cup green pepper, chopped

Instructions

  1. Place the cubed bread, cooked pork sausage, and cubed cheddar cheese in a 9 x 13-inch pan.
  2. In a separate bowl, beat the eggs and mix in the milk, chopped onion, cream of mushroom soup, drained mushrooms, and chopped green pepper.
  3. Pour the egg mixture over the bread, sausage, and cheese in the pan, ensuring even coverage.
  4. Cover the pan and refrigerate overnight to allow flavors to meld.
  5. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the casserole uncovered for 60 minutes, or until golden brown on top.
