Ingredients

  • 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 medium green pepper, chopped
  • 1/2 lb. ground beef
  • 1 cup regular rice, uncooked
  • 2 (8 oz.) cans tomato sauce
  • 1 3/4 cups hot water
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • dash of pepper
  • 1 teaspoon prepared mustard

Instructions

  1. Add ground beef, sliced onion, chopped green pepper, and uncooked rice to a skillet.
  2. Cook and stir until the meat is browned.
  3. Drain the grease from the skillet.
  4. Add tomato sauce, hot water, salt, pepper, and prepared mustard to the skillet.
  5. Mix well to combine all ingredients.
  6. Bring the mixture to a boil.
  7. Cover the skillet and simmer for 25 minutes.
  8. Optionally, sprinkle with grated cheese before serving.
