Ingredients

  • pastry for 9-inch pie
  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 tablespoons vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2/3 cup raisins
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • whipped cream (optional)

Instructions

  1. Roll the pastry to 1/8-inch thickness on a lightly floured surface.
  2. Place the pastry in a 9-inch pie plate and trim off excess pastry along the edges.
  3. Fold the edges under and flute.
  4. Prick the bottom and sides of the pastry with a fork.
  5. Bake at 450°F for 3 to 5 minutes until lightly golden; remove from oven.
  6. Allow the pie shell to cool before filling.
