Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lb. round steak (1/2-inch thick)
  • 1 Tbsp. oil
  • 1 envelope gravy mix
  • 2 c. water
  • 2 Tbsp. instant onion
  • 2 Tbsp. red wine vinegar
  • 2 Tbsp. brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 1/2 tsp. ginger
  • 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce

Instructions

  1. Cut the round steak into 1‑inch squares.
  2. Brown the meat in a large frypan over medium‑high heat with the oil, turning to sear all sides.
  3. Remove the meat and pour in gravy mix and water; bring to a boil while stirring.
  4. Add instant onion, red wine vinegar, brown sugar, salt, pepper, ginger, and Worcestershire sauce; stir to combine.
  5. Return the browned meat to the pan, cover, and simmer until tender, about 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  6. Serve hot over buttered noodles or a side of your choice.
