Tips & Substitutions

For a flavorful twist, consider using leftover beef from a Fiesta Dish or marinated flank steak instead of the roast. If you prefer a vegetarian option, substitute the beef with chickpeas or tempeh. Fresh herbs like parsley can replace cilantro if needed. Adjust the level of spiciness by varying the number of peppers you add.

Serving Suggestions

Serve Salpicon as a refreshing main dish or as a filling for tacos. It pairs wonderfully with a side of Mexican rice or black beans. For a more substantial meal, consider serving it alongside Our Favorite Mexican Lasagna. Garnish with additional cilantro and lime wedges for an extra burst of flavor.

Storage & Reheating

Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. To reheat, gently warm the mixture on the stove over low heat, adding a splash of water or oil to prevent drying out. This dish is best enjoyed fresh, but the flavors can develop even more after a day in the fridge.
