Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup oil
  • 1 1/2 cups brown sugar, packed
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 1/2 cups flour, sifted
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 cup nuts, coconut, or chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Mix melted butter and oil in a kettle or saucepan.
  2. Add brown sugar and mix well.
  3. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  4. Stir in vanilla extract.
  5. Sift and add flour along with baking powder.
  6. Fold in nuts, coconut, or chocolate chips as desired.
  7. Pour batter into a greased and floured 9 x 13-inch pan.
  8. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for about 25 minutes.
  9. Do not overbake and watch closely while baking.
