Ingredients

  • 12 oz. bulk pork sausage
  • 1/2 cup chopped onions
  • 1/4 cup chopped celery
  • 1/4 cup chopped green peppers
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1 (3 oz.) package cream cheese, cubed
  • 2 Tbsp. chopped green onion tops
  • 2 Tbsp. minced fresh parsley
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 (8 oz.) tube refrigerated crescent rolls
  • 1 egg, lightly beaten

Instructions

  1. In a skillet over medium heat, cook sausage, chopped onions, chopped celery, chopped green peppers, and minced garlic until the meat is no longer pink and vegetables are tender; drain.
  2. Add cubed cream cheese, chopped green onion tops, and minced parsley to the skillet. Cook and stir over low heat until the cheese is melted.
  3. Unroll the crescent roll dough and arrange it on a baking sheet, shaping it into a braid or rectangle.
  4. Spread the sausage mixture along the center of the dough.
  5. Fold the edges of the dough over the filling and braid or fold to seal.
  6. Brush the top with the lightly beaten egg.
  7. Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for about 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
  8. Slice and serve warm.
