Ingredients

  • 2 (10 oz.) cans pork and beans
  • 1 large onion
  • 8 oz. margarine
  • 1 Tbsp. dry mustard
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 3/4 cup dark brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup catsup
  • 1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 300°F (150°C).
  2. Peel the onion and chop into small pieces.
  3. Melt the margarine in a saucepan over very low heat.
  4. Grease the bottom and sides of a baking dish.
  5. Put the chopped onion, melted margarine, pork and beans, dry mustard, sugar, dark brown sugar, catsup, and Worcestershire sauce into the baking dish and mix well.
  6. Sprinkle the mixture with salt and pepper.
  7. Cover the dish.
  8. Bake for 2 hours.
  9. Serve with applesauce, hot or cold.
