Ingredients

  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 2 Tbsp. chopped green pepper
  • 2 Tbsp. butter or margarine
  • 2 Tbsp. flour
  • 1 c. water
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. Worcestershire
  • 1 c. grated American cheese
  • 1/4 c. tomato juice
  • 1 lb. shrimp, cleaned, cooked and peeled
  • 3 c. hot cooked extra long grain rice

Instructions

  1. Saute chopped onion and green pepper in butter for 2 minutes.
  2. Stir in flour and then add water, stirring until mixture thickens.
  3. Add salt and Worcestershire sauce, stirring well.
  4. Add grated American cheese and stir until melted.
  5. Blend in tomato juice and cook until heated through.
  6. Add cooked and peeled shrimp, heating thoroughly for about 5 minutes.
  7. Serve the shrimp mixture over hot, cooked rice.
