  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 or 3 ribs celery
  • dash of salt
  • 1 bell pepper

  1. Heat tomato soup to boiling and season with salt, red pepper, Worcestershire sauce if desired, then add Tabasco sauce.
  2. Soften gelatin in 1/2 cup cold water, then add to hot soup until dissolved.
  3. Remove from heat and pour into a blender.

Tips & Substitutions

To enhance the flavor, consider adding a pinch of smoked paprika or a squeeze of fresh garlic to the mixture. For a lighter version, substitute Greek yogurt for the mayonnaise. If you prefer a spicier kick, increase the Tabasco sauce. Ensure the gelatin is fully dissolved for a smooth texture. This dish makes a great addition to summer gatherings alongside other seafood recipes.

Serving Suggestions

This shrimp mousse is best served chilled, garnished with fresh herbs or a sprinkle of paprika for color. Pair it with crisp crackers or toasted baguette slices for a delightful appetizer. It also complements a fresh green salad or pairs beautifully with Cheese Topped Fish Fillets for a delicious seafood-themed meal.

Storage & Reheating

Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. To reheat, gently warm in the microwave, but be careful not to overheat as it may change the texture. This mousse is best enjoyed cold, so consider serving it straight from the fridge.
