Ingredients

  • 2 lb. shrimp, deveined and cleaned
  • 2 pkg. Knorr Newburg sauce mix
  • 1/2 large bell pepper, chopped fine
  • 1 large onion, chopped fine
  • 1 stalk celery, chopped fine
  • 1 stick butter
  • 4 Tbsp. flour
  • 1 to 1 1/2 qt. milk
  • 1 Tbsp. Old Bay seasoning

Instructions

  1. Melt butter in a large pot.
  2. Add chopped onion and celery; sauté about 10 minutes.
  3. Add chopped bell pepper and shrimp; sauté 15 minutes more until shrimp are done.
  4. Remove from heat.
  5. Add flour and Knorr Newburg sauce mix; stir well to eliminate lumps.
  6. Add 1 quart of milk.
  7. Return to low heat and bring to a simmer slowly until the sauce thickens.
  8. Add more milk if necessary to thin out the sauce.
  9. Add parsley at the end of cooking.
  10. Serve over rice.
