Ingredients

  • 1 lb. super lean hamburger
  • 5 scallions, chopped small, including the tops
  • 1 c. grated carrots
  • 1 green bell pepper, diced
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 2 c. crushed tomatoes
  • 2 Tbsp. orange juice
  • 2 Tbsp. steak sauce
  • 1/4 c. golden raisins
  • 2 Tbsp. canola oil

Instructions

  1. Put oil in a nonstick frypan over medium heat.
  2. Add scallions, green pepper, and carrots.
  3. Cook until tender.
  4. Add hamburger and brown.
  5. Stir in crushed tomatoes, orange juice, steak sauce, and raisins.
  6. Let simmer for 5 to 10 minutes.
  7. Serve open-faced on whole wheat buns.
