Ingredients

  • 2 lb. ground chuck
  • 1 lb. hot Jimmy Dean sausage
  • 1/2 cup green pepper, chopped
  • 2 onions, chopped
  • 1 can tomato sauce
  • 1/2 cup Seven-Up
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2 cans pinto beans
  • 1 can kidney beans
  • 1 can lima beans
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 2 Tbsp. corn meal
  • 2 Tbsp. chili powder
  • 2 Tbsp. cumin
  • 1 Tbsp. oregano
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • hot sauce to taste

Instructions

  1. Saute ground chuck, Jimmy Dean hot sausage, chopped onions, chopped green pepper, and garlic until cooked through; drain excess fat.
  2. Add all remaining ingredients to the pot.
  3. Cook at least 3 hours on low heat, ensuring it never boils.
  4. Serve with sour cream and Southern corn bread.
