Ingredients

  • 3 large cans tomato sauce
  • 2 large cans tomato puree
  • 3 small cans tomato paste
  • 6 Tbsp garlic powder
  • 2 Tbsp onion powder
  • 6 Tbsp oregano
  • 3 Tbsp basil
  • 1 Tbsp pepper
  • 1 Tbsp salt
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 5 large green peppers
  • 6 medium onions
  • 2 lb hamburger
  • 6 links Italian sausage
  • 2 lb spaghetti noodles

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, combine tomato sauce, tomato puree, and tomato paste.
  2. Add garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, basil, pepper, salt (if using), and chili powder to the sauce mixture.
  3. Chop green peppers and onions; set aside.
  4. In a large skillet, cook hamburger and Italian sausage until browned; remove excess fat if necessary.
  5. Add chopped green peppers and onions to the meat; cook until vegetables are tender.
  6. Combine cooked meat and vegetables with the tomato sauce mixture; simmer for 30-45 minutes to develop flavors.
  7. Meanwhile, cook spaghetti noodles according to package instructions until al dente.
  8. Drain the spaghetti and serve topped with the meat sauce.
