- Spoon flour into a measuring cup and level off.
- Pour the flour onto waxed paper.
- Add baking soda, salt, and nutmeg to the flour.
- Stir well to blend.
- Cream together the brown sugar, oleo, and eggs thoroughly.
- Stir in the milk.
- Add the blended dry ingredients to the creamed mixture.
- Stir in chocolate chips and chopped dates.
- Mix well.
- Drop by slightly rounded tablespoonfuls, about 2 inches apart, onto an ungreased baking sheet.
- Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 12 to 15 minutes.
- Remove from baking sheet immediately.
- Cool on a rack.
