Ingredients

  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon ginger
  • 1 teaspoon cloves
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 cups canned pumpkin
  • 1 cup chopped nuts

Instructions

  1. Combine the flour, cinnamon, baking powder, baking soda, ginger, and cloves in a bowl.
  2. Cream the butter and sugar together, then add the eggs and mix well.
  3. Add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and fold in the canned pumpkin and chopped nuts.
  4. Pour the batter into a greased 9 x 5-inch loaf pan.
  5. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 60 to 70 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  6. Remove from the oven, let cool slightly, then remove from the pan and place on a cake rack to cool completely.
