Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • a little honey
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 2 cups oatmeal
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • raisins
  • chocolate chips
  • candied cherries (optional)
  • 1 cup shortening
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 4 1/2 cups flour

Instructions

  1. Prepare your sugar cookie dough following your preferred recipe, involving creaming butter and sugar, adding eggs and vanilla, then mixing in flour, salt, baking soda, and cinnamon.
  2. Roll out the cookie dough to fit your baking pan and press it firmly into the bottom.
  3. Bake the cookie crust at 350°F (175°C) for about 10-12 minutes until lightly golden.
  4. While the crust cools, melt the butter and peanut butter together, then mix in sugar, honey, and water.
  5. Add eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla.
  6. Combine oatmeal, flour, salt, baking soda, and cinnamon in a separate bowl and gradually add to wet mixture.
  7. Mix in raisins, chocolate chips, and candied cherries if using.
  8. Spread the mixture evenly over the cooled cookie crust in the baking pan.
