Ingredients

  • 70 pitted dates
  • 70 pecan or walnut quarters
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 1/4 cups flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup sour cream

Instructions

  1. Cream the butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Add the egg and mix well.
  2. Sift together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Alternately add the dry ingredients and sour cream to the creamed mixture, mixing just until combined.
  4. Stuff each pitted date with a pecan or walnut quarter.
  5. Drop the batter onto a greased cookie sheet, placing one date per cookie.
  6. Bake at 400°F for 8 to 10 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Top with Golden Frosting once cooled.
