Ingredients

  • 2 lb. ground beef
  • 1 (28 oz.) can tomato sauce
  • 1 (28 oz.) can diced tomatoes
  • 2 c. green pepper, cut in 1-inch squares
  • 1 c. chopped onion
  • 2 beef bouillon cubes
  • 1/4 c. brown sugar
  • 2 tsp. sea salt
  • 1 tsp. black pepper

Instructions

  1. Brown ground beef in a large soup pot and drain excess fat.
  2. Add tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, green peppers, chopped onion, beef bouillon cubes, brown sugar, sea salt, and black pepper to the pot.
  3. Bring the mixture to a boil; then reduce heat and simmer for 30 to 40 minutes until peppers and onions are tender.
  4. Add rice to the soup and cook for an additional 5 minutes until heated through.
  5. Serve hot.
