Ingredients

  • 1 cup raisins
  • 7 cups soft bread, cut up
  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • 1 chopped garlic clove (optional)
  • 1 cup chopped celery
  • 3/4 cup melted butter
  • 3 cups diced apple
  • 1/4 cup chopped parsley
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika

Instructions

  1. Place raisins in boiling water and let stand for 5 minutes.
  2. Drain the raisins and add to the soft bread pieces.
  3. Saute the mixture for 3 minutes.
  4. Add chopped onion, garlic (if using), and chopped celery in melted butter and cook until tender.
  5. Add the sautéed vegetables to the bread mixture along with diced apple, parsley, salt, and paprika.
