Super Lasagna offers a hearty, cheesy, and flavorful Italian-inspired dish with layers of beef, cottage cheese, and mozzarella, perfect for family dinners and gatherings.
Ingredients
- 8 oz. lasagna noodles ⓘ
- 1 1/2 lb. ground beef ⓘ
- 1/2 tsp. olive oil ⓘ
- 1/4 cup chopped onions ⓘ
- 1 clove garlic ⓘ
- 2 (6 oz.) cans tomato paste
- 2 cups tomato sauce with mushrooms ⓘ
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. oregano ⓘ
- 1 bay leaf
- 1 tsp. sweet basil ⓘ
- 1 tsp. parsley flakes ⓘ
- 1/4 tsp. pepper ⓘ
- 2 cups creamed cottage cheese ⓘ
- 1 egg ⓘ
- 16 oz. mozzarella cheese ⓘ
Instructions
- Cook lasagna noodles according to package directions. Drain.
- Brown ground beef in a large skillet with olive oil, chopped onions, and crushed garlic.
- Add tomato paste, tomato sauce, salt, oregano, bay leaf, basil, parsley flakes, pepper, and water. Simmer for 1 hour.
- Combine creamed cottage cheese, egg, remaining salt, and pepper.
- Grate mozzarella cheese.
- Layer cooked noodles, cottage cheese mixture, beef mixture, and mozzarella cheese in a 13 x 9-inch pan, ending with mozzarella on top.
- Bake at 350°F for 30 minutes.
- Remove from oven and let stand for 15 minutes before serving.
