Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup plus 1 tablespoon firmly packed brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons butter or margarine
  • 3/4 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 package (15 oz.) corn bread mix

Instructions

  1. Combine sugar, honey, and butter in a small saucepan, stirring occasionally, over low heat until it boils and sugar is dissolved.
  2. Sprinkle 1 tablespoon of chopped pecans into each of 12 average-sized corn stick forms.
  3. Spoon about 2 tablespoons of the hot syrup over the nuts in each form.
  4. Prepare corn bread mix according to package directions.
  5. Pour the batter into the corn stick forms over the syrup and nuts.
  6. Bake for 25 minutes at 450°F until lightly browned.
  7. Immediately invert onto a serving platter and serve hot.
