Ingredients

  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • dash of pepper
  • 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • 2/3 cup milk
  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 3/4 cup cooked rice
  • cabbage leaves
  • 1 can condensed tomato soup
  • 1 Tbsp. brown sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. lemon juice

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine egg, salt, pepper, Worcestershire sauce, chopped onion, and milk; mix well.
  2. Add ground beef and cooked rice; mix thoroughly.
  3. Immerse cabbage leaves in boiling water for 3 minutes or until limp.
  4. Split the heavy center vein of each leaf about 2.5 inches to make rolling easier.
  5. Place a portion of the meat mixture onto each cabbage leaf, roll up, and secure if needed.
  6. Arrange rolls in a baking dish.
  7. Mix condensed tomato soup with brown sugar and lemon juice, then pour over the cabbage rolls.
  8. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for about 30 minutes or until heated through and bubbling.
