Ingredients

  • 1 cup chopped fresh pears
  • 1/2 cup oil
  • 1 cup or less sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts

Instructions

  1. Beat oil and sugar together until well blended.
  2. Beat in eggs, one at a time.
  3. Add sour cream and vanilla; mix well.
  4. Combine dry ingredients and add to the wet mixture, beating until well blended.
  5. Stir in chopped walnuts and pears.
  6. Pour batter into a well greased 9 x 5-inch loaf pan.
  7. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 1 hour or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  8. Let cool in the pan for 10 to 15 minutes.
  9. Turn out onto a rack to cool completely, then slice and serve.
