Ingredients

  • 1 (10-inch) unbaked pie shell
  • 2 packages frozen chopped broccoli
  • 2 cups precooked cubed ham
  • 2 cups shredded Swiss cheese
  • 2 tablespoons chopped onion
  • 1.5 cups scalded milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 450°F (232°C).
  2. Drain the frozen chopped broccoli.
  3. Layer half of the broccoli, ham, and Swiss cheese in the unbaked pie shell.
  4. Repeat the layering with the remaining broccoli, ham, and cheese.
  5. Sprinkle chopped onion on top of the layered ingredients.
  6. Set the pie aside.
  7. Gradually stir the scalded milk into the slightly beaten eggs; add salt and pepper.
  8. Pour the egg mixture over the layered ingredients in the pie shell.
  9. Bake for 10 minutes at 450°F, then reduce the oven temperature to 325°F (163°C).
  10. Continue baking for 30 to 40 minutes until set and golden.
