Ingredients

  • 2 Tbsp. butter
  • 2 Tbsp. flour
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 1 tsp. sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. green onion
  • 1 c. sour cream
  • 3 cans French green beans, drained
  • 1/2 lb. grated Swiss cheese
  • 1/2 c. cornflake crumbs

Instructions

  1. Melt 2 tablespoons butter in a saucepan, then stir in flour, salt, pepper, sugar, and chopped green onion.
  2. Gradually add sour cream, stirring constantly until the mixture thickens.
  3. Fold in drained French green beans and heat through.
  4. Pour the bean mixture into a greased 9 x 9-inch baking dish.
  5. Top with grated Swiss cheese.
  6. Combine cornflake crumbs with melted butter and sprinkle over the cheese.
  7. Bake at 400°F (200°C) for 20 minutes until bubbly and golden.
  8. Allow to cool for 20 minutes before serving.
