Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1.25 oz. package taco seasoning mix
  • 16 oz. can refried beans
  • 8 oz. can tomato sauce
  • 2 cans crescent dinner rolls
  • 1 tablespoon salad oil
  • 1/3 cup cornmeal
  • 1 cup grated Cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup grated Monterey Jack cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F.
  2. Brown the ground beef and chopped onions in a skillet; drain excess grease if necessary.
  3. Stir in taco seasoning mix, refried beans, and tomato sauce; simmer for 5 minutes.
  4. Unroll the crescent dough into 4 long rectangles.
  5. Place the dough in an ungreased 15 x 10-inch jellyroll pan.
  6. Press the dough over the bottom and 1 inch up the sides to form a crust.
  7. Bake at 375°F for 25 to 30 minutes or until golden brown.
  8. Sprinkle grated Cheddar and Monterey Jack cheeses over the hot crust.
  9. Return to the oven and bake for an additional 2 to 3 minutes until the cheese is melted.
  10. Cut into squares and serve topped with chopped lettuce, tomatoes, taco sauce, sour cream, or your favorite toppings.
