Ingredients

  • 2 Tbsp. melted butter
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. milk
  • 1 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 2 c. canned cherries
  • 1/2 c. brown sugar
  • 2 c. boiling water

Instructions

  1. Cream together melted butter, sugar, salt, milk, flour, baking powder, nutmeg, and cinnamon.
  2. Place canned cherries evenly in a 9-inch square pan.
  3. Spread the dough mixture over the cherries.
  4. Sprinkle brown sugar over the top of the dough.
  5. Pour boiling water over the entire mixture.
  6. Bake at 350°F for 45 minutes to 1 hour until golden and bubbly.
