Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup butter flavor Crisco
  • 1 1/4 cups firmly packed light brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1/3 cup milk
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 3 cups quick oats
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 cup raisins
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts

Instructions

  1. Heat oven to 375°F.
  2. Combine Crisco, brown sugar, egg, milk, and vanilla in a large bowl.
  3. Beat at medium speed of electric mixer until well blended and fluffy.
  4. Combine oats, flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon. Mix into creamed mixture at low speed just until blended.
  5. Stir in raisins and chopped walnuts.
  6. Drop rounded teaspoonfuls onto baking sheet.
  7. Bake at 375°F for 10 to 12 minutes or until lightly browned.
  8. Cool 2 minutes on baking sheets. Remove to rack.
