Ingredients

  • pastry for two-crust pie
  • 1 1/3 cups flour
  • 1 1/2 pounds cubed tofu
  • 1 cup sliced carrots
  • 1 cup sliced celery
  • 1 cup frozen peas
  • 1 1/2 cups chopped onion
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 teaspoon thyme
  • 1/2 teaspoon sage
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • salt

Instructions

  1. Toss the cubes of tofu in a mix of 1 cup flour, 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder, 1/2 teaspoon salt, and 1/4 teaspoon pepper.
  2. Brown the coated tofu cubes in oil until crispy.
  3. Add sliced carrots, sliced celery, chopped onion, and cook over medium heat until the carrots are soft.
  4. Stir in frozen peas, milk, water, thyme, sage, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  5. Pour the mixture into a pie crust, cover with the second crust, seal the edges, and cut slits to vent.
  6. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for about 30 minutes until golden brown and bubbly.
