Ingredients

  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 3 cups sugar frosted flakes
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup margarine or butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs

Instructions

  1. Melt chocolate chips in the top of a double boiler over hot (not boiling) water, stirring constantly.
  2. Remove from heat.
  3. Crush the sugar frosted flakes to measure 1 1/2 cups.
  4. Set aside.
  5. Sift together the flour, soda, and salt.
  6. Set aside.
  7. Measure margarine and sugar into a bowl and beat until very light and fluffy.
  8. Add eggs and vanilla; beat well.
  9. Add sifted dry ingredients and mix thoroughly.
  10. Fold in crushed flakes.
  11. Swirl warm melted chocolate lightly through the batter, leaving streaks of chocolate.
  12. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto an ungreased baking sheet.
  13. Bake at 375°F for 12 minutes.
